In the United States the income tax return is filed with the Internal revenue Service. All tax returns are reports used by the IRS or with a local government collection agency to calculate an income tax or other taxes associated with the area. As the name suggests, the income tax return files and calculates all taxes associated with an individual taxpayers or business' income.

The income tax in the United States is the largest federal tax; money obtained through the levy helps fund public services, current expenditures, and our military services. The income tax return, is therefore, an essential tax return prepared by the Internal Revenue Service.

In the more narrow sense, an income tax return is a report that contains an individuals liabilities, payments, and income figures to help compute the particular tax rate associated. the income tax return is an essential report that transmits information about income, deductions, receipts, and write-offs to the Internal Revenue Service for viewing.

Once the application is viewed, the IRS will determine the corresponding calculations and either send out a bill or a refund. When filing an income return it is necessary to attach a copy of a past tax return to the form. The copy of a past tax return enables the IRS to view any changes or fluctuations in rates present in the application.

As a result of its function, the income tax return is a necessary document that records all pertinent tax information associated with income. All copies of the forms are sent to the individual taxpayer, the taxpayer's place of employment, and the Internal Revenue Service's database.
